Signage - Episode 1

Visiting the island a while back, I put up several "no trespassing" signs.  This is necessary from lessons we have learned there.  I thought it would be a good idea to have a new sign designating the island by name.  So I started building one out of wood.

Using a free online logo construction tool, Logo Ease, and the font Duality, I came up with this:

I then picked up a board from the local board place.  Really it was a board salesman, selling boards out of the back of his wagon...

I cutted the board into two semi matching parts.

I then traced a stencil of what I wanted.  I've learned from the works of Banksy that stencils can be quite useful.

I then aligned my stencil and spray painted the victim board.

I used a little tape here and there to keep the stencil in place.

Next, I drilled pilot holes to put the scroll saw's blade through in each letter.

Working on the letters.

More letter work.

The majority of the sign is done, now I need to cut out the center of the letters, router it a bit, and sand and paint.
